William Henry Harrison was the ninth President of the United States. He gave a two hour inauguration speech, and although it was cold and raining he refused to wear a jacket, therefore he caught pneumonia. He was president for thirty-one days until he died, the shortest term in American history. He was succeeded by his Vice President John Tyler. He was also the first to die in office and the last born before the Declaration of Independence.
