I want to tell you, ladies and gentlemen, there’s not enough troops in the army to force The southern people to break down segregation and accept the Negro [pronounced Nigra] into our theatres, into our swimming pools, into our homes, and into our churches." (Strom Thurmond)

James Strom Thurmond was a Racist or a Political opportunits who fought for the segregation that Jim Crow represented. Despite this he had a relationship with a Black maid and fathered a child with her. Strom Thurmond never publicly acknowledged his own daughter or had a good relationship with her because she was part Black. [1] [2] [3] [4]

In reaction to President Johnson's and Democratic Party support for the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Senator Thurmond left the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party.[5]

Note: Jesus was as dark skinned as present day Arabs Anyone as dark as Jesus would be barred from a white, segregated church.

Sen. Thurmond, joining in a Conservative filibuster of the Civil Rights act of 1957, spoke on the Senate floor for 24 hours and 18 minutes, a blowhard record that stands to this day.[6]
