A Senate is a body that takes part in ruling a country or an empire. The best known is the United States Senate. The earliest Senate was the Roman Senate. A Senate is sometimes reserved for older men who can hopefully bring wisdom and maturity to government. In a modern democracy that includes older women as well. In the Unites States a Senator must be at least 30 years old. Some Countries elect their senators, others like Canada appoint them.
