Saddam Hussein (April 28th, 1937 - December 30th, 2006) was the Dictator of Iraq from 1968 until he was overthrown 2003. He was an American enemy from 1968-1979 and again from 1990 until his death. Between these two times he was a huge American ally from 1980 to 1990. Saddam Hussein was a secular and Westernized terrorist who violently repressed anyone challenging his authority.

Some people thought that Saddam had connections to 9/11. But George W. Bush denies these claims.[1]

Earlier hatred turned to love

At first the United States hated him, not because he was a dictator (America loves dictators), but because his socialist policies were not in line with what the West wanted. As a result he was hated from 1968 until 1980. After the Shah of Iran was overthrown in 1979, Rotten Ronnie began to provide aid to Saddam Hussein and gave him chemical weapons that he used on his own people. Saddam wanted to champion the Arabs against the Persians of Iran and invaded Iran. That started an eight year war which caused the deaths of a million people. At this time the US helped him but didn’t make a fuss. The US did nothing when Saddam had 148 people killed after some tried to assassinate him or when he gassed 5,000 Kurds in Halabja in 1988. The US didn’t care about Saddam’s human rights record. He was Reagan and Bush's darling until 1990.

Saddam became hated again

Saddam Hussein The Iraqi dictator.

After the Iran war ended Saddam tried harder to become the regional leader. He started building long range missiles and intensified his weapons program. Then he disobeyed his Western masters and invaded Kuwait. Overnight Saddam had become a monster and sanctions were applied to his regime after he invaded Kuwait. President "Curious" George W. Bush invaded Iraq in 2003 in hopes of liberating Iraq's oil supplies from the Iraqi people. Saddam was put on trial after his capture in December of 2003. Careful steps were taken not to link Saddam to President Reagan or the first President Bush and Saddam was executed on December 30th, 2006 and the execution was secretly filmed. The whole world watched this uncool piece of Snuff porn on the Internet.
