North Dakota is a very religious US state. A higher percentage of the population go to church there than in any other state of the Union. People have a large choice as there are also more churches per head of population than anywhere else. 3% have no religion. North Dakota also has 2 Senate Democrats, despite voting for John McCain. Also the western third of the state is Democratic while the eastern two thirds are more Republican. The capital of North Dakota is Bismarck.
