One of the world's largest financial centres and a well-known tax haven, this British overseas territory in the Caribbean has more registered businesses than it has people.[1]

The Cayman Islands is a country tax haven [2] where rich people hide all of the money a great deal of the money that they obtain illegally, international organisations are trying to do something about this. The Cayman Islands used to be part of Jamaica but remained a United Kingdom Colony dependency after Jamaica became independent. Tourism is also important in the Cayman Islands.

Christopher Columbus was the first European to discover the Cayman Islands.
